In many ways, this three-album series encapsulates Grassow’s career-long approach to music as an exploration of the relationship between science and mysticism, between technology and the yearnings (or needs) of the human soul. In the broadest sense, this is an overarching theme of most space-ambient music: the challenge (and metaphoric similarities) between what’s out there and what’s “in here.” Grassow steps back to contemplate the evolution of this struggle.
